This painting has been purchased by an art dealer for resale. It is done in oil on belgian linen - my last piece. I’ll have to get a new roll, which costs fifteen hundred dollars … ouch!

I haven’t posted anything for a couple of weeks, but now that Christmas is over I am back to work again.
This piece of sculpture is my favourite. I did this painting especially as a Christmas present for my girlfriend.

I like the way one’s eye is led way back into this picture. Sweeping vistas were a specialty of one of my favourite artists, Arthur Streeton.

The swagman is Australia’s version of the Tramp. They were homeless men who roamed the countryside looking for work or begging for food. The swag consisted of a roll of bedding, containing all the swagman’s belongings. I have painted them often - to me the swagman represents freedom, being in touch with nature free from the artificiality and pressures of modern life.

The jacaranda in bloom is my favourite tree. I painted this one completely from imagination and am pleased with the final result.
